Feeling almost OK

I tried a workout today, made it for a while on the treadmill before I surrendered.

Still a bit under the weather!

But I tried making gluten free biscuits....using the recipe for 7up Bisquick biscuits. I substituted GF baking mix, club soda for the 7up and Greek yogurt for the sour cream!

4 ingredient (melted butter is the fourth) easy, handle gently recipe!

It was pretty successful!

I didn't cut round biscuits, and some enede up with flour side up in the pan of melted butter...but the one I tried, still not with butter and honey was a treat!

I don't really need to add more carbohydrates to my diet, but it was fun to try this!

Then our local yarn shop was having a sale, so I treated myself some more.....10 skeins of NORO for a sweater... The Queen Street Sweater in the latest Knitscene magazine.

Love the kangaroo pockets!

My yarn is green, silk cotton and viscose! Delightful!

I also bought some pink washable wool because 4 year old Nina wants me to knit a hoodie for her, with a pocket, pink with red trim...of course!

Her twin sister already has a navy blue handknit-by-grandma hoodie....

Speaking of the twins....

They had breakfast with Santa today!

Wedding photos finally come...the photographer captured SO many moments! lots of the scenes have the grandkids!

The wedding was in Savannah, GA in May. A beautiful outdoor "farm" venue!

Here we go....the dresses I made for the twins...flower girls...hanging with the bride's wedding dress!

Nina and the bride, looking at the wedding dress! (Nina already in her dress!)

Sweet bride, Hailee....she was so thoughtful of the little girls!

Lilia helps her little sisters get dressed!

And Nina sees the bride, Hailee, in the wedding gown!

Sophie shares some concerns with Hailee!

In the mirror! Beautiful!

Time for the ceremony...Lilia starts Sophie and Nina down the walkway...

Here they come!

One petal at a time...

Then join the bridesmaids for a close view of the wedding!

[I think Nina is loving her dress!]

Beautiful!

Bindley was in the wedding with the groomsmen!

And one more little guy...not ours, must find out if he was the ring bearer?

Dancing afterwards...for a long memorable evening...

Son in law dancing with both of his twin daughters!

Hailee giving Nina some more attention!

Young Bindley dancing with the bride!

Nina wants her turn...and Sophie is fine dancing with herself all night!

Dark falls, Sophie is still dancing!

Bindley too!

Bindley even showing the groom some moves!

From these well done photos I almost feel like I was at the wedding! I think my grandkids had a wonderful time! Thank-you to Hailee and Sherry! It is so wonderful when your babysitter loves you enough to ask you to be in her wedding!

Planning some sewing......

This fabric "Good Folks", a line by Anna Maria Horner, is going to become an Easter dress for our granddaughter, Lilia......if the sketch is approved by daughter, Laura.

It is a Simplicity pattern....I think a bit of black trim would set it off just right...we'll see what "mom" thinks...!!!!!

My granddaughter likes to work with her hands....

Here she is styling someones hair. She can entertain herself at my studio art table for hours.....

This first crayon drawing was done 4 years ago, she had been helping me make quilts..so I think her art is symetrically designed, like a quilt block.

[note: see larger images by clicking on the art work]

These were done a few days ago, she was playing with my oil pastels, glitter glue, and rubber stamps. She chose to use the rubber stamp which says, "BEAUTY". [A true artist at heart here!]

A tunic sewn for a granddaughter who will be 9 this week!

Can't help but think how much I will enjoy seeing her in it later this summer when they come to visit! They are in Colorado with other relatives now, hot air balloon rides for the adults and horseback riding for the children.

Perfect birthday weekend! [Below the granddaughter helping with her baby brother!]

Next is our cat, Shadow placing herself right in the lens....she settled in here as I was trying to photograph the "Just Breathe" quilt which is pin basted and ready for quilting. I think I will try a combination of machine quilting (with my classic Singer 301) and hand-quilting (in the center of the blocks).

I have just posted some artwork here.
