Come to the ball......
UNDER THE HARVEST MOON
UNDER the harvest moon,
When the soft silver
Drips shimmering
Over the garden nights,
Death, the gray mocker,
Comes and whispers to you
As a beautiful friend
Who remembers.
Under the summer roses
When the flagrant crimson
Lurks in the dusk
Of the wild red leaves,
Love, with little hands,
Comes and touches you
With a thousand memories,
And asks you
Beautiful, unanswerable questions.

Elizabeth over at "Be...dream....play" is having a Ball on September 26th to celebrate the Harvest Moon!
[the full moon will come and go before I have access to a camera or a scanner.....so I will cut and paste images from the Internet to make my fantasy evening....]
For a really dreamy evening, this could be my ballgown. A colorwash of gold, peach and orange...just like a chrysanthemum!

I'd be so glowing that the moon would have competition! (And after midnight, I'm already in a great color to match that "pumpkin" coach!)
these are beautiful. Magic shoes! Just putting them on will make me into a wonderful dancer!

Now I feel like Cinderella...a ball coming up and I have nothing to wear! lol Thank you so much for the heads up about this event...I'll go read about it:-) Wearing that gown and those shoes you showed certainly would make one feel beautiful and ready to dance all night! xox
Your dress and shoes are beautiful. But then YOU are beautiful.
Don't you just love autumn?! It's just so colorful....and cooler which is the part I love best!
You will be the loveliest lady at the ball, with your golden dress the color of the harvest moon, and of chrysanthemums.

Ah, Autumn, almost like a renewal as soon the air will be crisp and the trees wearing THEIR Ball gowns. Your dress is divine and I can see you wearing it....shall we dance? Come introduce yourself to all the other revelers you may not know yet. The frocks are all amazing...the company scintillating, the food is scrumptious and the bubbly whenever you like!
Pop in to my Cafe today!
XOXOXO

What a lovely gown - the color of marigolds, and the shoes! Oh how I wish I could wear those high heels, still. But then, I'd only end up kicking them off at the dance, lol.
Love Carl Sandburg. I visited his home in North Carolina a few years ago. Also love the images you chose to post. Come by for some canapes if you get hungry with all this dancing.

Beautiful post here! Feels like dancing into fall.....so sad to hear of your young friend. I have not heard of kids eating Jimson Weed seeds, one of my favorite O'Keefe paintings.
Simply stunning, glad you came to the ball.

So nice to meet you... can we urge eb on to now host a costume partay? I think this time I'll show up earlier... beautiful dress, you steal the show!
Most people seem to have danced barefoot. I fancied that I had glass slippers, but when I awoke this morning, there was no sign of them. I love the shoes you have chosen.
Beautiful you, it seems from the post below you have been at the ball with a lovely prince!
First let me say I love the name Indigo Pears !
Love Your Shoes and Chrysanthemums and The Dress You chose ? A DREAM ! I can almost HEAR that dress swishing.....
Sorry to be so late. I am still working my way down the list of links on EB's blog ! Even this many days later ! Wow so many people to meet !
Thank You for This Dance.
Your watercolor work is lovely.
Happy Autumn -Happy Full Moon (what is left!)
