What a difference 24 hours can make! Yesterday at this time, I was looking out into a torrential downpour. The water was gushing down the rocks across the street and making tiny waterfalls as is flooded our street.

backyard this afternoon
I’m trying some features from the new computer with this photo taken this afternoon. we have record snowfall! So Mr. P didn’t go to work today..first time ever to be stuck home by weather conditions!
Now, he drove down the hill to get groceries and got the car stuck a mile away from home….to be retrieved tomorrow, weather permitting!

I first saw "Shirley Valentine" while visiting my friend Macrina. This week, I am planning to again visit Macrina, who is now recuperating from hip surgery.
I will be taking my friend Karen, who is recuperating from a broken arm, to meet Macrina. Karen is staying with us for a couple of weeks...
So while there may not be much sunshine around here this time of year ('though Arkansas does get more than many of you!) we will be sharing the warmth of friendship. I will try to post more about our visit later in the week.
My job really takes my time these days....funny thing about that! My computer and blogging time is limited! I hope to get around and visit more blogs, a few at a time!

Our rainy weather for the last month has really helped the garden....
For the first summer I can remember, I haven't had to drag a hose around the yard. Here is the little shade garden outside my studio door. The impatiens, many of whom are volunteer are finally blooming.

On the other side of the back door, these container plants have needed a bit of help as they are under the wide eaves of the house. They get morning and evening shade but the full heat of the day at noon. Fortunately, the heat was not bad this August.
Today, I am going in to work a wee bit at a local children's boutique. Then we have to shop for a new refrigerator as ours seems to be dying after 25 years! It's always something!
