Home for lunch...just a moment to share this. I have to take it one day at a time and now must get back to the store to help with inventory!
Collage in process.....art clipped from recent magazines tossed against a printed graphic from a generous on-line collage artist, Green Paper !
I search through magazines for images which speak to me and then use them in my art journals.
This double page is from my journal last week when I learned, for sure, that the store I work in is closing. I use the journals to help work through the process of change and challenge. I am looking forward to some free time to blog, visit blogs and do my art.

Bits of color!
This is for Cheryl, who gave us the container full of onions etc. last year. The onions are up again and in front of them I planted one hyacinth (can you find it??? still pushing up!) and a dozen pansies.
******************************************************
My colorful life also includes the progress made on the scrappy granny squares, someday this will be an afghan which may come in handy in keeping those heating bills down....next year.
We learned yesterday that our 25 year old furnace must be replaced..
More bits-- these are snippets of my yarn which I put outside for the birds, don't know if they will use them in nest building or not!
My pinched nerve (or whatever it is) pain in my neck, shoulder, back and arm has returned today :-( Can't figure out what brings it on...
Like ruts in a country road, pain seems to find habitual pathways;I need a way to set up some road blocks or detours, better yet, get that road smoothed out so good energy and health can flow freely!

My peaceful world this week.....

(newly painted front door)
I am reading a "Hamish Macbeth" mystery by M.C. Beaton called "Death of a Cad".

We discovered Hamish Macbeth DVDs at our local library when our friend Cheryl was checking out the series. It only ran for 3 years in the mid 1990's, we have seen them all...so now I have to read in order to visit the imaginary village of "Lockdubh" (Gaelic for "black lake") in northern most Scotland. Hamish is the laid-back village constable. The series is imaginative and "campy" and always graced by the beautiful highland scenery!
Thanks to YOUtube, you can see a wonderful moment from the series here.
*****************************************************************
When not escaping into the pages of a book, I am in the process of finding a job.One I am currently interviewing with is a local Montessori school. Today, Caroline of Caroline's Crayons posted about her new job! [If you haven't visited Caroline before, you are in for a treat! Her former blog was Potato Prints.]
I found it quite synchronistic (may not be a real word, but I like it) and encouraging to read her post! I will be making a decision soon....one thing, the school is less than a mile away so I won't waste too much salary on filling my tank, (as I would have with the quilt shop 30 miles away who want me to come and work/play for them!) and I won't be tempted to spend said paycheck on merchandise if I am with babies and toddlers all day!
****************************************************************
One last thing, I will show more garden photos eventually...things are growing nicely now. Only problem is an uninvited guest....Mr. (Ms.?) Mole now plowing tunnels. I'm afraid this means "war"...and Mr. Pear will surely win!
(the door downstairs going out of my studio, also newly painted!)

Being open to someone else's life...(pain and joy!)
this is my daughter's friend Kim who has ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). (Kim was diagnosed not long after the birth of her son, Luke), Jin is her husband. They were high school sweethearts.
Kim sent this note re: a fund raising video for ALS
Sent: Tuesday, October 02, 2007 8:14 PM
I’d like to tell you about a video you can view on-line. It’s really well done, and each time the video is viewed, a donation is made to help find a cure for ALS. Please pass it on!

Your prayers and encouragement mean so much to us. The support you’ve given has been amazing!
Love,
Kim
Again, this is the link to the video...each time it is viewed, money is earned for research for a cure for ALS!
