Finishing up and working together!
This quilt top has been around our family home for some time. My sister pieced it while in high school in the 1960's....slowly, by hand in quiet time in her room.
Mom handquilted it more recently. Now it will be ready to go home with my sister, (who is due to visit this weekend) after the binding is put on with the help of our friend, Paula. It is full of memories of the clothes we wore in high school, and some family "scraps" which go back even earlier!
I love the colors and orange is so "IN" again now!
Below, another colorful family effort. Mom is crocheting the next round on my granny squares, destined to be a cozy afghan soon! I see lots of orange here too!

What a fabulous quilt - I never would have picked those colors - but when I see them I am in love with them. It really reflects the times - and what wonderful memories.
I like the granny squares too - it is so nice that your family has made things together. I want one of those granny square afghans that has black as the outer round - I just love the look of them - so vintage. Guess I'd better get some yarn and start if I want one. Thanks for the inspiration.
I LOVE this quilt!!! It is so happy--and I'm loving the orange!
The memories in the quilt make it a real treasure. You must be having fun doing these things with your Mom. Have fun with your sister too!
What a beautiful design...and the RED really sets it off! What great projects! ♥
