This delicious recipe is from December 1, 2010 Woman's Day .
The recipe makes two, 8 inch round cakes....I think one will be enough cake for me and Mom. [I am visiting her for a couple of days this week]. So, a half recipe perhaps with 1/3 of the original sugar amount will be what I bake!

This afternoon we made this recipe from Real Simple, "Quick Beef Bourguignonne". Tender and tasty....we let it "stew" a couple of hours. It works well in a slow cooker too! Even better the next day!

Good morning! It was cool here in FL this weekend and I did a red roast in the slow cooker. I want to try your recipe! It sounds wonderful! I love winter time meals! Enjoy the week! Happy holidays!
I love the combination of cranberries and oranges. This cake looks so good. Over Thanksgiving I made a cranberry orange loaf with pecans that is soooo good. I had to cut it into slices and put most of it in the freezer. My hubby and I are the only ones who will eat it. I thaw out a piece every now and than to have with a cup of tea. Enjoy your visit with your Mom!
I think I'll try the beef recipe for HB. The cake looks yummy, too but I ate so many sweet things over Thanksgiving that for now I've had my fill! I'm sure that won't last much longer though.
I must try this cake sounds and looks so delicious..I just love my slow cooker. The first one I had, bought as a wedding gift in 1976, lasted through the kids childhood...was great to come from work in the cold Prairie winter and open the door smeeling a wonderful stew in the pot...
yum!
you are baking, i am journaling ;-)
~hugs~
The Quick Beef Bourguignonne looks so good! I am making a chicken dish in my Slow Cooker this afternoon. On a snowy and then rainy day the Slow Cooker is a great way to make dinner.
