Every year I do a "cut and paste" art journal..
This is the last page....inside the back cover of the one for 2008. I was late winding it up. I was out of town most of the time from just before Thanksgiving until after Christmas. It was great to be back here and by pulling images of things out of my mail....(thanks Gemma), magazines, Tracy Porter's catalog and the Internet, I glue up an imaginary world. It isn't even always right side up! No matter.
Sometimes I tell my self this is "silly", a waste of time...but I know after doing a page or two, I feel more peaceful and centered. It's as if somehow I have tied up some loose ends and can now move on to see what tomorrow may bring!

What a lovely "soul journal" - and not a silly waste of time at all. I'd like to be better about doing things like this.
No! No! never a waste of time....One day they will be a treasure for your family. And it will recall things to your memory as time goes by. I have been going through things I wrote years ago...as far back as 1967. I have put them in order and soon they will be a Journal.
Just reading things I had wrote on old calendars was wonderful. Things I had forgotten became clear as if it were yesterday.
I am trying to get stuff organized.
Delightful year coming!
Hugs, Mary
Ignore that other voice, they(JOURNALS)ARE too precious to stop now. Whose IDEA is it that it is a waste of time? not a creative soul. Just turn to the inner voice and say "enough of your nonscense...just be quiet!" I love looking at them as you create...it is part of your legacy. lizzzy
That's what we need in the world: more silly things! I am embracing silly as my theme for 2009.
Yes I get a good feeling doing these as well. What is interesting is how you can learn to read them. Many times there is a deeper message that comes out of the finished pieces.
This sounds like something I would like to do this year. A great use of creative time! Happy New Year to you, sweet friend!
I would like to award you with the special "Proximidade" award. I hope you'll visit my post to accept the award! You've done so much to help me get started this past year and you continue to inspire me!

Oh I love this! There is a wonderful energy here. I would really like to do one of these journals as well. thank you for the inspiration.
Wow, baking soda really works when cleaning an oven? Aren't you a sweetie for cleaning your daughters. I hope my oven stays clean enough so that I could use the baking soda method and not worry about those chemicals. Oh and I broke the oven light AFTER cleaning it, LOL.
