I've been working on my painting......and now wonder just how smooth and refined I'd like it.....???????
Here are 2 examples from Matisse...."Two figures reclining on a Hillside" and a detail from another
work.....I like how the brush stokes are so honest!
I'll have to make some choices...and see how my efforts turn out but perhaps my painting of figures and faces will soon be to a good place!

I read part of the post before this. What a wonderful painter you are, Lila!
Oh. I like the richness of colour in your painting. Beautiful.
It's already quite vivid and appealing. I'll watch to see what more, if anything, you do to these figures and the background. I have such an eager eye that I am ready for you to hang it on the wall already.
I love it already. Such a beautiful background color, and those touches of yellow and red. As to whether or not to refine the figures??? Hmmmm...I just don't know
Hi Lila,
That's what I love about going to museums -- the permission to look at brush strokes. I read the previous post too. I celebrate your sense of color.
It's awesome to see how your work progresses....you are an extremely talented painter and artist with words and fabric and paper as well.
xoxo
I want to be like you!
