This is my 500th post!
I am still in Georgia where I am hugging grandkids and helping as much as possible (?). This morning we got a call from Jamaica that my SIL's stepmother had a heart attack...so it doesn't seem like the best time to head for home, as he may have to go down to the island.

While here, I have had some creative fun. I found a packet of Mary Engelbreit Christmas fabrics so perfect for the retro/rickrack look that my daughter loves. So Grandaughter Lilia and I have been making some Christmas placemats. They are "way cute"! It feels so good to be passing my love for sewing to Lilia!

Lilia concentrating on sewing with a machine from the 1950's...just like the one I learned to sew on!!!

Fabrics from Mary Engelbreit's Jolly Christmas collection.

The finished placemats with cute snow friends!

Congratulations on your 500th post. You have a great blog. I also loved the placemats you and granddaughter made, very cheery. Sorry to hear about the dog, almost sounds like someone took him.

Love the pics you added! Your grandkids are adorable...and you look fabulous! I like your place mats! I may put one together with fabric I have! Are they as easy as they look?

So, how is your daughter's singles. My goodness she is young to have them.

Thank-you, Sioux!
She is doing very well....because she is young and took the medicine immediately....now I am able to enjoy helping her prepare for our family Christmas here in her home.

What a wonderful placemat! I think it's wonderful that you are passing along your love of sewing to your grandaughter. I hope that everything is ok with all of the patients. Shingles are awful, I know. A few people in our family have had them. I wish your SIL's stepmom all the best. I hope she will be better soon.

P.S. Those copper penny cookies in the previous post look wonderful. I love ginger cookies!
