Update from the front lines.....
Mom and baby have been sent to bed for 2 days to rest and bond. Seems that having constant visitors and a long weekend party may be lots of fun for the men and their friends, but wearing on a woman who has just given birth!!!!
(and on her mother too!)
This small photo is not a photo of my daughter (the first one is)....we do have many wonderful photos from the long Thanksgiving open house which my son-in-law and his dad were having....but they are on the other computer and no one has time or energy to send them this way at the moment....so I'll post some later!

I'm in favor of re-establishing the "women's tent" tradition from ancient times....when the new mother and infant were protected and nurtured for at least a month before beginning the party circuit!!!!

I agree completely. After the birth of a baby, the mom and baby need some quiet time just to re-coup and get to know one another. I hope your daughter gets some rest!

I am glad to see your post I was beginning to wonder. I guess they never did a woman's tent in Jamaica!
Funny idea of having endless party, when some people Like the MOther are pooped! lizzzzzzzy

I was so exhausted, my own fault really, but still very tired after our son was born. It is good for baby and Mom to have time to nest and all of that.

I do hope she doesn't feel confined thought. I'd just kick out all the people and have the house to myself, my new baby, my husband and my mother, of course.

Yes, Annie, we set down some rules about visitors and entertaining....and Laura got some much needed rest and nurturing from her mom (me).
So now the baby is thriving and she is watching that she doestn't over-do just because she feels so much better! We do one outing per day maximum!
Thank-you all for your concern and interest! I'm still hoping to post some photos soon.

Aah, you updated the post. Beautiful beautiful mom and baby.

Yes, Women's Tent. Wondeful concept. Also "The Red Tent" for menstruation, book by Anita Diamont. Great book, even tho I am beyond that point now (happily).
