Being at my mother's house on Sunday....I am experimenting with her computer. Just now loaded this photo sight unseen...just to see what was in Mom's file here.
As you see, it is the same photo that Lisa(Oceandreamer) had on her post yesterday....so when I read her post, this computer saved the photo. ( I'm guess I'm glad no one on this computer has been visiting unappetizing or disgusting sites...I could have opened something foul!)
So anyway, this image works for today's post. Thank-you for the photo, Lisa!

Lisa was writiing about how fabric is her medium, she feels her most successful art has been made by sewing....and I have certainly had a lot the same experience, though I would like to become more innovative and expressive with my quilts....

I'm still posting photos and tidbits about many of the quilts I have made on my Lila's Quilts blog (see profile page).

In my last post I gave my mother credit for encouraging my sewing and most of my creative pursuits!

Besides working on this post, we have gone to my mother's church this morning and are cooking a nice Sunday dinner of roast turkey breast, cranberry relish, baked winter squash, mashed potatoes and gravy. I am knitting today...on a pair of socks from varigated sock yarn, and a doll sweater from the indigo yarn.

Ohhh I wish I was eating with you it all sounds great. I love to sew but am not very good at it. Very simple things. No zippers or button holes for me. They both look awful.

ah, a connection!! You know it was my mom who started me sewing as well AND I have the first sewing machine she bought me. I now HAVE to get it down and take a photo. She made MANY of her own clothes, she made tons of mine, doll clothes for me, household items....I feel blessed she passed that on to me and her creative nature in general. Have fun with your mom they are so precious!!

The dinner sounds delicious....and it seems you're keeping very busy. My mom did not teach me to sew even though she sewed most of my clothes. What I learned was from Home Ec class and that was very basic. My mom did teach me to do embroidery and it still reminds me of her.

Thank-you all for stopping by!
Mom's surgery has gone well and we are doing the eyedrops. We'll see the doctor again tomorrow afternoon.
I have finished the doll sweater and 1/2 of a sock...fun at Mom's!
(She is truly a treasure!)
